These are the school rules, more will be added if necessary in the amendments.
Remember this is an RP, so you should be posting like your character, meaning;
Anything not related to the character's current situation (not yours, the character's) must be posted in a manner that clearly shows it is not part of the RP. You may not have conversations in RP forums this way.
Your character must have a first and last name, which can be done by modifying your "display name" in your profile. You will not be sorted until you have two names.
You must post a profile in the great hall and be sorted before you can begin using the rest of the site. Your profile should state your character's name, wand type, family history (including blood, i.e. pure, half, or muggle-born), and abilities. All special abilities must be approved by the Headmistress through PM and must have a proper explanation.
When walking into a conversation that already exists, your character should only know what happened after and immediately before they arrived, i.e. you shouldn't be able to tell the first thing somebody said when you walked in on the hundredth post.
Detentions will be assigned occasionally by teachers and should be served in the office of your head of house. If you do not think you deserved a detention, you may appeal it to myself or Carina Erikson, assuming the one you appeal it to isn't the one that gave it to you. (In this case, you should appeal it to the other, Carina and I are on equal terms here). If you fail to serve a detention, ten house points will be taken from you.
House Points will be awarded for doing well in class (good attendance and good behavior) and special accomplishments. This includes projects that must be approved by both the teacher of the class they relate to and either me or the Deputy Headmistress, for a contracted number of house points. It also includes occasional bonuses that can only be announced by myself for a set number of house points. The only one of these that will be constant is a twenty-five point reward to the house of your choosing for getting a new member to join. (This must be confirmed by them)

The year has now started, and the following decided for how it will work (by the way, that means classes should be posted now)
The semester will start on the 26th of each month and end on the 22nd of the next. There are two semesters in the year, so on the 22nd two months after the beginning of the year a year change will occur. The year change has the following conditions:
You will not go up a year if you have been behaving badly (this means you, not your character. I don't care how poorly behaved you are if it stays in the RP and doesn't break the Terms of Service).
You will not go up a year if you joined less than two weeks before the end of the second semester. (Special considerations may be made for people who have been particularly active)
You will not go up a year if you have not made at least one post per week in the required classes. One elective is required for first years, two for third years and above.
You will not go up a year if you do not average one post per day you have been here. (Meaning: if you've been a member for 14 days and haven't posted on 7 of them, you can still make this cutoff if you post at least two posts each on the days you are here.)
You will not go up a year if you do not serve all assigned detentions, nor will you go up a year if you don't do all homework assigned to you.
You will not go up a year if you have not posted a profile, no matter how long you've been here.

I have added sections in your profiles that will allow you to specify your wand type, abilities, and blood, allowing people to see this stuff without having to look at your profile. Similar additions may be made without warning, so keep checking that area of "modify profile" for new things.

A money counter has been added in the form of Sickles, a shop where you can spend it will be located in the great hall, which will include House Points, private hidden boards (you will need the URL to view it), and ads for other sites that will be like affiliate banners, but instead of being in the scroller they will appear in a free-floating form under every page.
